Dear Charley—

I’ve waited a couple of days for the bottle of ink to come from Boston, but it hasn’t arrived—so now the signatures must wait till I get back from Philadelphia Saturday morning. I reach there tomorrow evening, & shall stop at the Lafayette Hotel under the name of “J. B. Smith,” if you should want to communicate with me tomorrowemendation night or Friday.

I can’t make out what it is the Heliotypers are going to photograph. If it is the bust itself, it is in Philad at 1603 Summer st. If it is the photo that is to be re-photographed, there is no occasion for that, as there are 3 good negatives of it to be had here by ordering them from Mr. Van Aken, Elmira.
