dear charlie,
by and by when you come to hartford, remind me of two things, to wit: i want to see if i can put you in as a director in the engineering company in my place; and i also want you to go to the american publishing company’s office and see if they have notified the custom houses on the frontier, regarding my books, in accordance with the treasury order of october 19th.
