Dear Charley—

I return Buckland’s letters unread—I don’t feel interest enough to read them. He is well got rid of.

You are right, as to Dennison, I judge.

The more I think of Ahern’s bill the more it enrages me. I doubt if there is $10 in it that doesn’t belong to the completion of the old contract.

The printer writes me that he did his best on the pamphlet—but I had not doubted that, before.
